DIRECTIONS

Well it was a close one on Saturday.  We lost by only 3 points.  I hope everyone had a good time even though it was rather hot.  Thanks to everyone who helped out on Saturday, it makes the meets go much smoother when we have all our volunteer positions filled and everyone shows up.  I think the other team was amazed on how many volunteers we can get from our parents.  They were not so lucky.

Anyway, here we go again a full week of swimming.

Practices will be held on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evening as usual.  Morning practices will be available on Wednesday and Friday morning for non pre-team swimmers.  Friday practices will be held at 5:00 to 5:30 for pre-team and 5:30 to 6:30 for everyone to work on starts and turns.

Wednesday night, June 23rd is our first B meet at King Farm.  We will meet at our pool at 5:15 to caravan over.  If you are going straight to the pool, please arrive there no later than 5:30.  Our warm-ups start at 5:40.

A note from the King Farm team rep:  There is a parking lot behind the pool and there is ample street parking too. But please obey the 'No Parking' signs on small sections of the street - Some residents got ticketed for parking there.  Our pool area is near the baby pool.

Our team will be out of the water by 5:35 pm and then your team is welcome to warm up from 5:40 - 6 pm.

The B meets allow the swimmers that did not swim in Saturday’s meet to swim and for those swimmers who did swim to swim the events they did not swim on Saturday.  Just some points of clarification, MCSL rules only allow swimmers to swim a maximum of 4 individual events (one being the IM) in a week, so those swimmers who are maxed out already can swim their single event on Wednesday as an exhibition swimmer.  I will use my daughter Lillie as an example.  She swam free, back, breast and IM on Saturday, so she is only allowed to swim fly on Wednesday, but will swim as an exhibition swimmer for that event.  Exhibition swimmer means she will get a time, but will not get a place/ribbon for the event.  This allows other swimmers to get an opportunity to get ribbons on Wednesday.  We also will be having any swimmer that DQd on Saturday to swim as an exhibition swimmer for the event they were DQd so they can try to fix their strokes.  There will also be a kickboard event for our pre-team swimmers.

In order to help the meet run smoothly, I need to check to see which swimmers are not available.  From my list I have the following not here:

Hanna Jamei

Sydney Zavadil

Please let me know if I need to add anyone to the list.

I will send out an e-mail later on our Friday social and Saturday’s meet.

Also, for the officials --  I have Scott Blackman down for starter and Jeannette Lemieux and Susan Ruiz for Stroke and Turn.  Let me know if you have any problems with this.

Thanks,

Mary Alice
